Plot: Souvenance is the film adaptation of a Haitian myth: the resurrection of the brutal revolutionary Emperor Jacques I of Haiti (Jean-Jacques Dessalines), who declared Haiti as an independent Empire in 1804, and who was assassinated in 1806.
